Jin Gong Zhu Shi
Jin Gong Zhu Shi, whose surname was Lu, name Zhongyi, was from Jining, Shandong. He was born in 1848, on the twenty-fourth day of the fourth lunar month in the 28th year of the Daoguang reign of the Qing dynasty. Orphaned at a young age, he suffered hardship and loneliness during his youth. During the Guangxu era, he joined the military service in Zhili. Later, guided by immortals and Buddhas, he sought the Dao from Patriarch Qingxu and offered his accumulated savings of one hundred taels of silver as a donation. At the site of the sixteenth patriarch, Liu, he practiced Dao by chopping wood and cooking daily, enduring hardship and diligently cultivating, earning boundless merit.
As Patriarch Liu grew old, he consulted heaven on who should succeed in upholding the Dao. After receiving divine instructions given by our Heavenly Mother, Jin Gong Zhu Shi received the Heavenly Mandate on March 15th of the 31st year of the Guangxu reign, 1905, and was entrusted with supervising the Baiyang Dao Affairs. He began to propagate Tian Dao in Jining, Shandong, broadly saving all beings and initiating the final chapter of the salvation process.
On the second day of the second lunar month in the fourteenth year of the Republic of China, 1925, Jin Gong Zhu Shi passed away at the age of seventy-six, with hair as white as a crane and the appearance of youth. He was honored with the title “Jin Gong Zhu Shi” bestowed by our Heavenly Mother.
The following year, on the third day of the third lunar month, 1926, Jin Gong Zhu Shi was spiritually manifested through Yang Chunling of Shanxi, revealing himself for one hundred days, during which he spoke the “Jin Gong Wondrous Dharma” and transmitted the “Maitreya True Sutra” to the world.
